Cloudways Backups Done Right
At Snapshooter, we understand the importance of secure, automated backups which is why we’ve created an easy-to-use, easy-to-automate solution that is perfect for Cloudways Servers. You simply need to connect your server to Snapshooter, and configure your first backup job. Our service will then backup your applications according to your personal configuration!
Getting Started
You simply need to connect your Cloudways server. SnapShooter will then find all applications installed on said server and backup these into individual databases and file backups. This also simplifies backup management by having many smaller backup files for each application.

Which applications types are supported?
When creating a backup job for Cloudways using Snapshooter, the system will automatically detect the databases for Wordpress, Magento v2, and Laravel (Cloudways one-click installs). However, for any other CMS, you will need to set up the backup manually. Snapshooter will backup all web files, but for Cloudways one-click type apps, the database will be backed up automatically. If you are using any othe type of app, you will need to set up a separate backup job for the database.
Can you restore a Single Site?
Yes! Each website on your server gets a separate database and file system backup allowing you to restore a single database or file system. You are free to select as many or as little segments of the backup to restore from using our recovery system.
SnapShooter gives us infinite flexibility in configuring our backup policies and frees us from the confines of rigid, bare-bones functionality provided by VM vendors themselves.

Server Based Cloudways Backups
For customers who already have a server and want there applications data to stay within there own network, only meta sent back to SnapShooter.
- SnapShooter Connects Via SSH to your server
- Once Connected this server connects directly to your applications and begins the backup process
- Data from applications begins streaming to your server
- Your Server compresses the data and uploads it to your storage
- Confirmation of uploaded chunk is received, repeat steps 3,4,5 until backup completed
- During the backup meta data is periodic send back to SnapShooter for real time monitoring
- Once the backup is completed SnapShooter confirms the file size with the storage
